My research projects
involves examining selected reactions between specific oxide supports
(silica, silica-alumina, niobia) and gold precursors. We are
investigating novel ways to create gold nanoparticles via well defined
chemisorption reactions with volatile precursors. The precursors to the
supported gold catalysts are characterized using FT-IR, NMR, GC, GC/MS,
and XAS.
