The Present: Graduate Program Undergraduate Program | Graduate Program | Faculty & Research | Dept. Name Change?
The graduate program continues to prosper. We currently have 79 graduate students, mainly PhD students There are 51 male students and 28 female students. Of the 79 graduate students. 53 received there B.S degrees from U.S. universities.
Only on rare occasions, does the Department accept our own UCSB undergraduates into our graduate program. While we would be delighted to have our best undergraduate students continue at UCSB, we believe that it is in their best interests to broaden their experience by attending a second school. Fortunately for all concerned, this policy has been adopted by the top ChE departments for many years.
Our Department has benefited by our strong collaborative research programs with institutions in the U.S. and abroad. In particular, our graduate students and faculty have benefited from several recent exchange visits with the Korean Institute of Advanced Science and Technology (KAIST) in Seoul. We have a complete list of our international research collaborators.
