Research Highlights
Jacob Israelachvili and his research group are studying the macro- to nano-scale structures on gecko feet that act simultaneously and synergistically to produce high adhesion (and friction) forces followed by equally rapid detachment − all within about 20 ms − as geckos run along walls and ceilings.
