Richard A. Auhll Professor and Dean of Engineering Matthew Tirrell
BS: B.S. Chemical Engineering, Northwestern University 1973 PhD: Ph.D. Polymer Science and Engineering, University of Massachusetts 1977 Honors: 2002 Turner Alfrey Lectures, Michigan Molecular Institute
Tirrell's research is focused on the manipulation and measurement of surface properties of polymers, bringing microscopic measurements of intermolecular forces to bear on polymer surface problems, and new insight into polymer technology particularly in the area of surface modification with amphiphilic polymers and bimolecular materials. He has done research at the ?cole Sup?rieure de Physique et Chimie in Paris, the Australian National University in Canberra, and Bell Laboratories
"Bottom-up Design of Biomimetic Assemblies", R. Tu and M. Tirrell, Advanced Drug Delivery Reviews, 56 , 1537-1563 (2004). |
